Dr. Edwards brings 20+ years of experience in education, community relations, Emmy Award winning public relations, and workforce development. She has a strong record of accomplishment in student development and education. She is an effective communicator, planner and organizer, with a reputation for working independently or as a team member. She is experienced in coordination and management of academic, career readiness and job training programs.
Dr. Edwards manages youth programs ranging from DHS licensed out-of-school time daycare, after school, summer camp and college prep to schoolwide special events for pre-kindergarten through high school students.
She has worked to empower parental decision-making by providing parents with information they need to effectively guide their children’s education. She has worked with low performing and rural schools to affect academic improvement in students through utilization of the resources of the community and businesses, along with school and family involvement. She has worked in teams to provide technical assistance to educational facilitators and school-to-community involvement groups.
